This was the second game we created in the Aporia series. This game was created on our first semester on the Masters programme in Medialogy, and was a continuation of the first game. At this point we had grown our team to four people.
This time around we wanted to explore the possibilities of guiding players in computer games using unimodal sensorial stimulation in the form of sound and visuals. The goal was to successfully guide the players through different narrative nodes of interest using these guiding cues in such a way that the players were subconsciously guided through the open world level.
The game also implemented in-game metrics, so it was possible for us to investigate the players path through the level and see their reactions when exposed to the cues. The results showed that players was guided to some degree, however they did not find the narrative points of interest any faster, but it seems like players found the them more efficiently.
